Michael Jackson (1958-2009)

I'm not a big fan of Michael Jackson, but I do love his songs. I remember growing up to his songs, even dancing to it from grade school to college. His passing came as a surprise to everyone and for this, his fans all over the world are mourning the loss of a talented singer.

This is a mini tribute to Michael Jackson, a photo of how I would like to remember him and a video of his song, Gone Too Soon, sung by Stevie Wonder and Babyface. One of my fave MJ songs, which I also dedicate to my Papa who passed away 3 years ago.

Wonder Woman

Last Friday, I was surfing the net and doing some random Google search when I stumbled upon this...

OH.. MY... GAWD!!! *jaw dropped*

I was totally blown away with this beauty. I searched the Havaianas US website and there it was *awe*. I quickly clicked on it and checked the sizes... 37/38... OUT OF STOCK... Wait, that can't be right! I refreshed the page and clicked on the link again... OUT OF STOCK! WHAAAAAT?!? I admit I panicked *overacting i know* and searched other sites - Zappos, Piperlime, Endless... All out of stock for my size! I tried searching again and I clicked on every single result and then I was brought to the Warner Bros. site. They have Wonder Woman merch including *hold your breath* the Wonder Woman Havaianas! *choir singing* Hallelujah!

I didn't wanna get my hopes up, so with fingers crossed I clicked on the sizes link, and it was AVAILABLE - 4 items left! OMG, I immediately ordered not just 1, but 2 pairs in my size and added a Harry Potter "I solemnly swear that I'm up to no good" ladies tee. This one I plan to wear to the Harry Potter film showing in London.

Happy, happy, happy! Will post pics once I have the said items.

Trilogy Boutique & Canteen - A Hidden Treasure

Trilogy is the brain child of DJ Steve Aoki and siblings Jon, Rosario and Victoria Herrera.

The Canteen is a great addition, with my cousin *fake cough*, Chef Fernando Aracama (Embassy Cuisine) at the helm. Yummy food, for sure!

Shown in photo below with gorgeous model Teresa Herrera

Another plus is the free Wi-Fi within the boutique, so that you can shop + eat + surf, all in one place.

I like the fact that it is not located inside a mall, makes for a relaxed shopping time. You can find Trilogy in Makati, as shown in the map above.

Will drop by for my Junk Food Clothing fix!

I Spy! - Kate Torralba

Another trip to visit my sisters in London and Germany next month meant another Visa application. Good thing my son doesn't need one coz he has dual nationality. So anyways, Mama and I went to the UKVACS (UK Visa Application Centre) last June 2, Tuesday. We were originally scheduled on the 1st of June but I forgot about our appointment *typical*. Arrived at the Phil-AXA building and after 10 years of waiting for the lift, we were already late for our appointment, but luckily still within the grace period *whew*.

Went in to wait some more, and that's when I spotted Kate Torralba *without make-up*

Photo grabbed from Flickr

I was wondering what she is up to, going to UK and all when I saw this in StyleBible.ph

So that's why....

Anyway, she looked cute in her monochromatic outfit. It was raining that day, she had a jacket on and was carrying a really pretty Balenciaga First bag. I wanted to take a picture but it wasn't allowed inside the UKVACS.

I kept glancing discreetly in her direction to gawk at her bag *stalker* and this is what she was carrying *90% sure*

I find the color combo unusual (caramel and dark brown), but it still looked pretty. It is made of suede with leather lining. I covet this bag *paging my hubby* coz this is great for everyday use, but I would probably get a neutral shade.

I like how she pulled the outfit together, using the colors of the bag to do a monochromatic look. I'm trying to remember the shoes, and I think it was also caramel/brown... I wonder where she got the shoes?

Got this in the mail. Nice collection, love the shoes! It's worth checking out here!

Rollasole: Trendy Flats That Won't Break The Bank

Have you ever taken your stilettos off and walked barefoot after a party? A pair of ballet flats is what every clubber needs after a night of partying hard. But how can you fit a pair inside your bag? Well worry no more, because Rollasole is here to save your soles.

Matt Horan, founder of Rollasole says, "After getting tired of giving my girlfriend a piggyback home every Saturday night, I had a 'Eureka!' moment."

Rollasole is a vending machine which dispenses ultra-light and fashionable flats. Their machines can now be found outside nightclubs all over the U.K.

Rollasole comes in 3 sizes (S,M,L) and 3 colors (Back to Black, Gold Digger and Silver Lining).

It's a steal at £5 and every pair is rolled-up in a cute box and includes a matching bag.

I bet party girls Stateside are pretty jealous about this! Just made my online purchase for 2 pairs *yay* and had it shipped to my sister's flat in London.

Hi, My name is Yvonne and I'm a Havaianatico!

Well, a born-again Havaianatico, actually. I stopped buying Havaianas flipflops after I purchased the totally useless Pink Havaianas Flash back in 2006. I still have that pair and I thought I could have the straps changed at the MYOH. Unfortunately, they didn't allow that so I'm stuck with this pair forever I guess!

I was lured into going to the MYOH '09 this time because I needed new pairs, since my feet got bigger after giving birth to my baby boy last year. Anyway, who doesn't want custom-made Havies, right?

The event started last May 28, where hundreds flocked to The Rockwell Tent in Makati. The heavy rains did not dampen the spirits of Havaianaticos (Havaianas fanatics) and kept the queue long during the 5-day event.

The idea is quite simple - mix and match different colors for the soles and straps, then embellish it with Swarovski crystals, Lifestyle and Culture Pins. Voila! Your very own customized pair of Havaianas flipflops!

Having missed this event in the past years (living overseas and being pregnant!), I surely made up for that by purchasing 7 pairs for myself and a total of 14 pairs purchased by my family, including our housemaid!

Kudos to these hardworking studes who helped us with our customized Havies:

Giordan from Ateneo

Apple (UA&P) and Narl (UP)

and the pretty Sacha from UA&P

I was able to get a stub for the Limited Edition pin by purchasing a Havaianas Surf for my hubby in Celio Powerplant Mall. The pin was attached to my blue and metallic gold pair (shown above).

Of course, this post wouldn't be complete without showing off *grin* my customized Havies, including my Limited Edition Filipinas Havaianas! I love it!

Clockwise from L to R: Dark Grey & Grey Atmosphere with Swarovski Crystals, Green & Pink with Yoga Pin, Pink & Metallic Gold with Swarovski, Marine Blue & Red with Jeepney, Lilac & Pink, Blue & Metallic Gold with Lomo Cam & Limited Edition Pin, Yellow & Metallic Pink with Flower and The Limited Edition Filipinas in Black & Metallic Silver with Philippine Flag

Gosh! Looking at the pic above, I'm now thinking... Did I go overboard buying all those flipflops? No matter, haha! I wanted to post the pics of the other pairs we bought, but the ones for my sisters (who are both overseas) are already packed and waiting to board the plane next month!

I have to say that despite the long queue and the rain, I still had a great time choosing the color combinations and deciding which pin I should put in each pair. At the end of the day, you can say I'm one happy camper, skipping away with my special Havies in a pretty Havaianas string bag.

Pussycat Dolls LIVE in Manila

The Pussycat Dolls dominated Manila for a one-night concert held last June 11, 2009 sans PCD Jessica Sutta, who reportedly fractured a rib and has a back injury, which happened during a concert in Australia. This is the second time the group is performing for their Filipino fans.

PCD had a successful concert, thanks in part to the good weather (no rain!) and the enthusiasm of their fans. Eventhough they didn't have Lady GaGa as their front act in the Manila show, the Philippine All-Stars (world champion hip-hop group) entertained the crowd nevertheless.

It was a night to remember as PCD performed songs from their new album, Doll Domination and a couple of favorites like Don't Cha and Stickwitu. They performed Jai Ho (You Are My Destiny) to close the show and everyone was dancing and singing along.

I dragged my hubby to watch the concert with me and I think he liked the show, even if he doesn't wanna admit it. I purchased our tickets as soon as they started selling it. I had a great time eventhough my back hurt from standing for 4-5hours! Good thing there were food kiosks like Italianni's, Fish & Co, Friday's and Flapjacks. That entertained my hubby for sure! *laughs* I purchased a PCD shirt, to join my collection of concert tees at home.

Below are photos from last night... Enjoy!

David Beckham's New Armani Ad

Becks unveiled his new underwear ad for Emporio Armani in Selfridges London today. Oiled up and sporting a side-parting (kinda looks gay), he did not disappoint women all over the world with his latest Armani ad. I just wish this billboard will still be there when we travel to London next month. I think I've died and gone to heaven *sigh*

All together now... *drool*

Once more, with feelings... I love it!
