I was lured into going to the MYOH '09 this time because I needed new pairs, since my feet got bigger after giving birth to my baby boy last year. Anyway, who doesn't want custom-made Havies, right?

The event started last May 28, where hundreds flocked to The Rockwell Tent in Makati. The heavy rains did not dampen the spirits of Havaianaticos (Havaianas fanatics) and kept the queue long during the 5-day event.
The idea is quite simple - mix and match different colors for the soles and straps, then embellish it with Swarovski crystals, Lifestyle and Culture Pins. Voila! Your very own customized pair of Havaianas flipflops!
Having missed this event in the past years (living overseas and being pregnant!), I surely made up for that by purchasing 7 pairs for myself and a total of 14 pairs purchased by my family, including our housemaid!
Kudos to these hardworking studes who helped us with our customized Havies:
Giordan from Ateneo

Apple (UA&P) and Narl (UP)

and the pretty Sacha from UA&P
I was able to get a stub for the Limited Edition pin by purchasing a Havaianas Surf for my hubby in Celio Powerplant Mall. The pin was attached to my blue and metallic gold pair (shown above).
Of course, this post wouldn't be complete without showing off *grin* my customized Havies, including my Limited Edition Filipinas Havaianas! I love it!
Clockwise from L to R: Dark Grey & Grey Atmosphere with Swarovski Crystals, Green & Pink with Yoga Pin, Pink & Metallic Gold with Swarovski, Marine Blue & Red with Jeepney, Lilac & Pink, Blue & Metallic Gold with Lomo Cam & Limited Edition Pin, Yellow & Metallic Pink with Flower and The Limited Edition Filipinas in Black & Metallic Silver with Philippine Flag
Gosh! Looking at the pic above, I'm now thinking... Did I go overboard buying all those flipflops? No matter, haha! I wanted to post the pics of the other pairs we bought, but the ones for my sisters (who are both overseas) are already packed and waiting to board the plane next month!
I have to say that despite the long queue and the rain, I still had a great time choosing the color combinations and deciding which pin I should put in each pair. At the end of the day, you can say I'm one happy camper, skipping away with my special Havies in a pretty Havaianas string bag.
