Dear friends,
When you drive along EDSA (Guadalupe - Northbound side), you may perhaps spot a billboard that's different from many other commercial billboards in the area.
The girl is beautiful, yes, but she is not endorsing any brand of whitening cream or shampoo.
The dog is cute and it is not a purebreed dog. Gasp! Could it be that they have actually decided to give a "starring role" to a mutt?
Yes. It is the PAWS billboard promoting shelter adoptions and responsible pet ownership.
Karylle, celebrity spokesperson for this campaign, posed with our rescued animals to help raise awareness about the many dogs and cats who are in need of good homes at the PAWS shelter.
In this particular billboard, her co-model is "Shoeshine" a once-starving dog whom PAWS rescued from the streets of Marikina.
We will send out more "behind-the- scenes" stories of this campaign, and what Karylle has to say about the lifetime commitment that comes with pet ownership.
Meantime, we would like to thank EASTWOOD MALL for sponsoring this billboard to support our campaign on animal adoptions.
Spread the word about animals in need of second chances -- tell your friends to visit the PAWS Animal Shelter or PARC in Aurora Blvd,Katipunan Valley, Loyola Heights, QC (http://parc. mefindhome. org)
Our office hours are 10 am to 6pm, Mondays to Saturdays. Note: We are closed on Sundays and holidays.
Our fur-orphans will be waiting.. so we hope to see more of you around PARC!
Best regards,
Anna

Last year, 71 cats were adopted from the PAWS shelter.

your post reminds me of what happened here a few days ago. a neighbor's dog got run over by a nun. it was my mom who brought the injured doggie to the vet bec at that time, we coulnd't locate the owner. to make the long story short, the dog died eventually. both nun and bad neighbor did not want to pay the vet. neighbor's houseboy said that we should've just let the dog die in the street. sobrang sama!
